Volunteer Opportunities
- If you volunteer, please contact Lynda McFarland at [email protected] to ensure your
  clearances are up to date. ***All volunteers must have updated clearances
  
  All Volunteers Who Complete the Safe Environment Procedure Online
  If you complete your Safe Environment requirements online, please note that the results of the Child Abuse History Clearance will be sent to your email. It is by default to be in your email for 48 hours and then it disappears for your safety. Please be sure to print the certificate before it is removed. If you do not print it in that time frame, you will have to contact Virtus to get the certificate. Remember, you are not compliant if the certificate is not submitted to the Safe Environment Office. The Safe Environment Office has no way of retrieving your certificate.
  
  All Volunteers Who Complete the Safe Environment Procedure Using Paper Forms
  For those completing the Safe Environment requirements using the paper forms, please be sure to submit to the Safe Environment office the Child Abuse History Clearance certificate that you receive in the mail. The Office has no way of retrieving that certificate without you submitting it. Remember, you are not compliant if the certificate is not submitted to the Safe Environment Office.
  
  Protecting God’s Children and Vulnerable Adults
  Once all Safe Environment Clearances are completed, all volunteers are required to finish the process with the Protecting God’s Children and Vulnerable Adults module. This is a mandated requirement for everyone who volunteers. Once assigned, there is a 30 day grace period to complete this module.
- Faith Formation Volunteers
  
  If you are waiting for a sign from God to tell you how to use your time to make a difference, this is it. Become a Faith Formation volunteer for the children in Our Lady of Hope Parish. We are in need of teachers, aides, and hall monitors. Programs run September to April Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday evenings. We have an awesome support team to assist you in lesson planning.

Welcoming Committee
- Join Our Welcoming Committee: A Ministry of Welcome and Service
  
  Dear Parish Family,
  
  As a community united in faith, we strive to make everyone who walks through our doors feel at home. Our Welcoming Committee plays a crucial role in creating a warm and welcoming environment for all who come to our church, especially newcomers, visitors, and those in need of support.
  
  We are looking for compassionate and dedicated volunteers to join our Welcoming Committee. As a member, you’ll assist with tasks such as:
  ¨ Welcoming guests and parishioners at Masses and events
  ¨ Organizing and serving refreshments at church gatherings
  ¨ Offering support and comfort to those in need of a listening ear
  ¨ Helping with special events and celebrations throughout the year
  If you have a heart for service and enjoy creating an atmosphere of warmth and kindness, we would love for you to be a part of this ministry.

- Greeter/Usher Ministry
  
  We are reaching out to invite you to serve as an usher. Ushers play a vital role in creating a welcoming and prayerful environment for all who come to worship. Your presence can help ensure that Masses run smoothly, assist with seating, distribute bulletins, and offer any support that may be needed during services.
  Whether you're a long-time member or new to the parish, we would love to have you join this important ministry. Volunteering as an usher is a wonderful way to grow in faith, build community, and serve the Lord through the gift of hospitality.

- Parking
  
  We need individuals to volunteer during events and key liturgies; Funeral Masses, Holy Week liturgies and weekend Masses.
  The requirements for PARKERS:
  * Minimum 16 years of age
  * Compliant with the Safe
  Environment Policy
  * Available for a 3-hour block of time to support the liturgies
- Altar Servers
  
  †Ensure everything is set-up prior to Mass
  †Lead procession and carry the cross
  †Assist the priest in the sanctuary during the Mass and other liturgical functions
  †Actively participate in Mass
  † Must be in 3rd grade or higher

  †Comfortable with public speaking

  †St. Germaine and Nativity Catholic Church—Adult Choir, Youth Choir, Funeral Choir, Cantors, & Instrumentalists

- ***Training will be provided. Adult volunteers will need to be baptized, and in good standing. Completion of Safe Environment Policy is required for the ministry. Youth/teens serving in this role do not have the same requirements. These roles are eligible for community service hours for high school students as required by the boards of education.
